A tour of the consoles
7 min readIn this lesson you'll learn to
- Identify the three WeGuard portals and who uses each
- Locate the major modules in the customer console
- Explain the distributor → reseller → customer hierarchy
Three portals, one platform
| Portal | Who uses it | What happens there |
|---|---|---|
| Customer console | Your customer's IT admins (and you, on their behalf) | Day-to-day device management: devices, policies, apps, reports, the We-suite |
| Reseller portal | You — the partner | Create and manage customer tenants, policy templates, plans, and billing |
| Admin portal | WeGuard (Wenable) staff | Platform operations — you'll rarely see it, but it's where your reseller account is configured |
Finding your way in the customer console
The sidebar groups the customer console into functional areas. The ones you'll live in during a deployment:
- Devices — the fleet list, per-device detail, and remote actions (lock, locate, wipe, restart, and more).
- Policies — the configuration engine. Per-platform sections for apps, kiosk, security, networking, geofencing, and dozens more.
- We-suite modules — WeTrack, WeBox, WeTalk, WeShield, WeSupport, each with its own page.
- Reports & Alerts — scheduled reports, compliance views, and the alert stream.
- Settings — platform enrollment (Android Enterprise, Apple including macOS, Windows), users and roles, branding, billing, and integrations.
The partner hierarchy
WeGuard is built multi-tenant from the ground up:
Distributor → Reseller (you) → Sub-reseller (optional) → Customer tenants
Your reseller account scopes exactly which customer tenants you can see and operate. Within a tenant, roles (admin, group admin, observer) and per-user module permissions control who can do what — you'll meet these in detail in the RBAC lesson later in this track.
First login checklist
- Sign in to the reseller portal with your WeGuard partner account.
- Confirm you can see your customer list (or create your first test tenant).
- Open a customer tenant and find: Devices, Policies, Reports, Settings.
- Locate the plan assigned to that tenant — it decides which modules are visible.
You now know where everything lives. The rest of this track teaches you what to do in each of those places.
Knowledge check
1. Where does a partner create and manage customer tenants?
2. What is the WeGuard tenancy hierarchy?
3. A module is missing in a customer tenant. What should you check first?
