Reseller operations & white-label
8 min read- Walk the plan lifecycle in the reseller console — author, clone, assign
- Explain the distributor → reseller → customer hierarchy
- Position white-label for partners who sell under their own brand
Everything in the last two lessons becomes operational in one place: the reseller console. This is the partner's cockpit — where the commercial model you sell is the commercial model you configure.
The plan lifecycle
Three verbs cover it:
- Author — build a plan: name it, choose the module set and limits. Your "Retail Kiosk Bundle" or "Logistics Fleet Plan" is a real object here, not a proposal-document fiction.
- Clone — duplicate and adjust. The fastest path to a customer-specific variant: clone the segment plan, tweak one module, assign.
- Assign — attach the plan to a customer tenant. From that moment their console takes the plan's shape — the gating from last lesson, applied.
The strategic upshot: you can productize your own packaging. Partners who define two or three segment plans and reuse them close faster and support cleaner than partners who hand-negotiate every module list.
The hierarchy
The channel structure lives in the product: distributor → reseller → sub-reseller → customer. Each level manages what's beneath it — tenants, plans, billing scope. If your business has sub-partners, you don't bolt that on with spreadsheets; you model it in the console. (Roles exist to match — reseller admins, reseller-customer admins, observers — so a sub-partner's staff get exactly the access their tier implies.)
White-label
For partners who sell managed services under their own name, the platform supports white-label branding — your identity on the console your customers log into. The pitch changes shape: not "we resell WeGuard" but "this is our device-management product, and our team runs it." That's a stickiness and margin position — the customer's relationship is with your brand.
White-label setup is coordinated with your WeGuard account team; what you need from this lesson is to recognize the partners it fits: MSPs, telcos, and any partner whose customers should see one brand — yours.
The close of the track
You now hold both halves: the story that opens doors (platform + suite + industry plays) and the machinery that closes them (plans, gating, reseller ops, white-label). Pass this exam and you've earned the WeGuard Certified Sales Professional credential — partner-exclusive, publicly verifiable, and backed by the only thing that actually sells: knowing the product.
